It is non-invasive, radiation-free, and delivers immediate results. A-mode (biometry) accurately measures the axial length of the eye, a key parameter for IOL calculation in cataract surgery, while B-mode provides a cross-sectional image of the eye’s interior to detect retinal detachments, hemorrhages, or tumors, even when a dense cataract prevents visualization of the fundus.
