Transilluminators

The transilluminator is a diagnostic instrument that uses light to examine body structures through the transillumination technique, passing a beam of light through tissues to observe their interior. Depending on how light passes through or is blocked, the specialist can identify density differences, fluid accumulations, or alterations not visible to the naked eye. It is useful in ophthalmology, vein location, paranasal sinus examination, and pediatric and neonatal assessments. Portable, easy to handle, and providing immediate results, current models incorporate high-intensity LED illumination and focused tips, often compatible with the handles of other diagnostic instruments.
