The specialists can customize the Portofino table with up to three different devices, keeping unsightly cables and cords out of the patient’s view.

Flexibility with multidimensional movement

The table offers flexibility with multidimensional movement. It can be adjusted vertically and rotated, adapting to both the patient and the specialist. This flexibility in the table’s movement keeps the patient comfortable and reduces repetitive strain on the specialist.

Lift Boy System

Best of all, there is no need to meticulously realign the equipment every time an adjustment is made, thanks to the innovative mechanics of the Lift Boy system. The specialist can calibrate the Lift Boy to compensate for the height difference between two pieces of equipment used simultaneously. Once the table has been programmed, the physician can switch between instruments and the table will automatically rise or lower to the correct working height. These features prevent physicians from having to repeatedly adjust the table and chair when changing equipment. Valuable time is saved for both the physician and the patient. The unit is safe, with integrated locking mechanisms to secure the table and instruments in place, thus protecting the patient.

Fully mobile for efficient examinations

The chair position can be adjusted. The physician can use the touchpad panel controls to raise and lower the chair. The chair can be manually reclined to a horizontal position, which is especially useful when applying drops during an examination. The chair can also be rotated 90 degrees, allowing the patient to easily enter and exit the seat.

Wheelchair Accessibility

For patients in wheelchairs or with mobility issues, the chair can be manually removed. The ophthalmic chair can be moved to the side using its own base plate, in order to make the unit accessible for wheelchair patients.

Chair Footrest and Armrests

The Portofino’s comfort features are not just for the doctor; this refraction unit is designed to keep the patient calm and secure throughout their entire visit. Comfortable armrests flank both sides of the ergonomic chair, while the footrest offers patients a convenient place to rest their feet and relax.

Phoropter arm (sold separately)

The phoropter arm is adjustable and can be moved up and down. Once in the correct position, it is easy to lock it in place.

Illumination

The Portofino’s dimmable LED lighting system allows operators to easily adjust light intensity through the elegant electronic control panel, designed for intuitive operation. This superior lighting system provides specialists with the ideal environment for refraction and examination, enabling them to deliver clinical excellence while ensuring patient comfort.

Control Panel

The Portofino control panel does not solely serve to move elements. With the touchpad, the operator can easily activate the optotype projector and turn instruments on or off. Once an instrument is turned on, users can adjust the brightness level of the illumination from the panel. The controls also operate the included overhead light, which helps healthcare professionals see what they are doing regardless of ambient lighting.

The refraction unit includes drawers for additional storage.

Safety

The Portofino is equipped with a variety of safety features. After rotating the table from one piece of equipment to the next, physicians or assistants can use the locking mechanism to keep the instrument in place. When ready to switch instruments again, simply unlock and return the table to the default position, or rotate it toward the next piece of equipment, reposition it in front of the patient, and lock it in place.

Careful design is the essence of the Portofino. This refraction unit can be ordered to be purchased and assembled for left-handed or right-handed operators. More importantly, the triple-arm table allows up to three different pieces of equipment to be used simultaneously.
