Advanced Optical Biometer with the Latest Technology

The TOMEY OA-2000 Optical Biometer offers fast, accurate, and comprehensive refractive measurements by integrating topography, axial length, lens thickness, and pachymetry, creating the ideal dataset for advanced ray tracing. This powerful combination ensures excellent IOL predictions, even in challenging ocular conditions or toric IOL cases. With a single measurement, it captures full-eye biometry, including anterior chamber depth (ACD), pupil diameter, and white-to-white distance. Designed for superior usability, the OA-2000 delivers outstanding optical results, precise K-values for optimal toric outcomes, and the advanced Hill-RBF method for exceptional post-refractive accuracy. Its open data system, intuitive interface, and quick access to complete eye data ensure better refractive outcomes and precise target selection, every time.

Fourier Domain Method and Ring Cone Method

Leveraging advanced Fourier-domain technology, the Tomey OA-2000 delivers exceptional tissue penetration, enabling high-speed, high-resolution scans even in patients with dense cataracts or other challenging ocular conditions. Its integrated Placido disc-based topography ensures highly reliable K values, essential for toric IOL planning and post-refractive evaluations. The system uses the ring cone method to measure corneal curvature radius at ø2.0 mm, ø2.5 mm, and ø3.0 mm, enhancing precision in corneal mapping. In rare cases involving extremely mature lenses, the AL-4000 portable ultrasound device can be used as a complementary tool, communicating seamlessly with the OA-2000 via Bluetooth.

Optical Measurement Mode

The Optical Measurement Mode of the Tomey OA-2000 provides a fast, non-contact, high-precision method for acquiring essential biometric data in a single operation. Through advanced Fourier domain technology, this mode enables the simultaneous measurement of five critical parameters, optimizing the diagnostic process and improving efficiency in clinical workflows. In a single capture, the OA-2000 obtains the following data:

▪ Axial length
▪ Keratometry
▪ Anterior chamber depth and lens thickness
▪ Corneal thickness
▪ Topography (Topography is useful for evaluating eyes after LASIK surgery, identifying irregular corneal astigmatism, and monitoring changes in corneal shape before and after surgery.)
▪ Pupil and corneal diameter

Advanced IOL Calculation

The OA-2000 integrates topography, axial length, lens thickness, and pachymetry, providing an ideal dataset for ray tracing. This ensures optimal results even in complex ocular conditions or when calculating toric IOLs. Whether you prefer using standard formulas or ray tracing methods, the OA-2000 supports both options with precision and ease. The IOL power calculation function of the Tomey OA-2000 includes nine formulas, such as SRK-II, SRK/T, Haigis, Holladay, Hoffer Q, and 2 formulas for eyes with surgically corrected corneal refractive power. * OKULIX calculations may be included.
