LED illumination with 50,000 hours of maintenance-free operation

3W LED light source with a color temperature of 3200K that reproduces halogen-type illumination with high chromatic fidelity. Provides 50,000 hours of consistent illumination with no bulb replacement required.

Extended battery life of up to 10 continuous hours

The combination of LED technology and a high-capacity rechargeable battery allows for 5 times more operating time than the competition. It provides 10 hours of continuous illumination and 5 hours at maximum intensity.

Aberration-free Japanese optics

Japanese-engineered optical system providing crystal-clear stereoscopic viewing of the ocular fundus. Enables fundoscopic observation even through narrow pupils as small as 2 mm in diameter.

Adjustable vertical or horizontal approach angle

Unique system that allows changing the mirror position to either vertical or horizontal with a single hand. Facilitates observation of the ocular fundus periphery from any angle according to the patient's pupil position.

The NEW light source reproduces clean halogen lamp color illumination and eliminates filament shadow. The LED light source provides constant illumination for 50,000 hours, with no need to replace the bulb. The combination of the LED and the powerful rechargeable battery enables 5 times longer operation and 10 hours of continuous illumination.

This high degree of visual clarity is due, in part, to the excellent LED illumination of the NTZ-BIO-IO-a. The illumination diameter is adjustable and can be set to 19 mm, 50 mm, or 80 mm, depending on the application. The 3W LED has a color temperature of 3200K, matching that of the halogen bulbs found in the average indirect ophthalmoscope.

The color temperature of the Neitz IO-a LED is 3200 K, the same color temperature as the halogen bulb used in the typical binocular indirect ophthalmoscope. The colors observed in ophthalmoscopy are the red of blood vessels, the orange of the retina, and the yellow of the optic disc.

Halogen Bulb Illumination

NEITZ LED Illumination

Common White Color LED

Unlike the common white LED used in indirect binocular ophthalmoscopes from other manufacturers, our halogen bulb color LED reproduces these colors with high color rendering properties as shown in the graph on the left. It helps the operator obtain maximum information from fundus observation for a more accurate diagnosis. It allows fundus examination under the same illumination conditions compatible with traditional halogen bulb lighting.

For specific applications, UV, blue, and red-free filters are included. The LED’s low power consumption and high-capacity rechargeable battery allow it to operate 5 times longer than the competition, providing 10 hours of continuous illumination and 5 hours at maximum brightness. This, combined with the device’s impeccable optics, means that clear stereoscopy can be achieved even through a narrow pupil diameter of 2 mm.

Due to the quality of the NTZ-BIO-IO-a-LED, it often accompanies its owner throughout their entire career. From school and training, to a clinic or hospital setting. With the most complete and flexible power supply offering, your binocular will adapt to any environment. If your needs or requirements change, the power supplies are modular and fully interchangeable. The battery comes with a clip that allows it to be mounted on a belt or headband.

The fundus image can be observed stereoscopically even through a small pupil of 2 mm in diameter. The observation angle can be continuously changed. Smooth single-hand mirror adjustment allows easy observation at any desired angle. The halogen light provides adequate illumination for general observation.

Neitz BIO-IO-A LED

The unique optical system of the NTZ-BIO-IO-a LED allows the approach angle to the pupil to be changed to vertical or horizontal positions, enabling users to observe the peripheral fundus from any angle. Furthermore, both the illumination light mirror and the observation mirrors can be easily adjusted with one hand. This flexible system can be adapted to most users’ facial features through an adjustable pupillary distance ranging from 54 mm to 74 mm.

Freedom in the choice of the approach angle to the pupil. The system allows adjusting the position of the mirrors in vertical or horizontal positions corresponding to the patient’s pupil. It allows the operator to observe the periphery of the patient’s fundus from any angle.

Neitz BIO-IO-A LED

The NTZ-BIO-IO-a LED features an optional teaching mirror accessory (sold separately) so that observers and students can view from the user’s perspective, making it ideal for in-person education. It also includes a carrying case and a comfortable head strap. These features and the quality assurance that accompanies all of Neitz’s ophthalmic products ensure that it can meet the needs of any ophthalmology clinic.
