Ezer Slit Lamp ESL-Emerald-18 Zoom

The dynamic range in the magnification power of the ESL-Emerald-18 earns it the nickname “Zoom.” The continuous field of view provides advantages over fixed-magnification slit lamp instruments. Traditional fixed-magnification slit lamps require large jumps in magnification between objectives, causing the focused object to be lost during the zoom process. With continuous zoom, the observed object is never lost from view while magnifying, allowing the clinician to quickly shift perspective. The “zoom” is easily adjusted by rotating a drum and provides a continuous magnification range from 11x to ~33x, enabling a smoother workflow for eye care professionals.

Continuous 11x to 33x zoom without loss

Continuous magnification system that allows changing the perspective without losing the focused object, unlike traditional lamps with fixed steps. The zoom is easily adjusted by means of a rotating drum for a smoother workflow.

High-longevity LED illumination

Ergonomic design with integrated controls

The ergonomic design of the ESL-Emerald-18 provides clear and detailed illumination and observation of the patient’s eye. The Japanese tonometer ESL-Emerald-TN (sold separately) is a precision applanation tonometer designed to be mounted on stereoscopic microscopes equipped with a slit lamp, used to measure intraocular pressure (IOP). The ESL-Emerald-TN operates by bringing the applanation measurement cone into contact with the eye, slowly applying pressure to the corneal surface during measurement until it is temporarily flattened.

The instrument can accommodate either a halogen or LED lamp for slit lamp tower illumination. It incorporates the latest LED technology to ensure the optimal light spectrum for slit lamp observation and early-stage ocular disease identification. The high-illumination LED is designed for extended service life and reduced power consumption, making it the most reliable option for daily use over many years. Even if the LED lamp housing needs to be replaced for any reason, users are not required to replace the entire column assembly, as the lamp housing unit is individually replaceable. This energy-saving light source generates no UV radiation and produces less heat, thereby reducing stress on the patient’s eye. The LED option generates no heat, making the examination experience more comfortable for the patient. The illumination LED delivers the same color output as halogen illumination.

The detection of aberrant conditions is facilitated by standard cobalt blue, red-free, heat absorption, and ½ ND filters, which are upgradeable. Once an anomaly is detected, the attachable digital video camera beam splitter can be used by eye care professionals to capture still images or videos of the observation.

The ergonomic design allows easy control of light volume, as the illumination control knob is located at the base of the device and in close proximity to the joystick. Visual health professionals can make light intensity adjustments without needing to move their hand away from the joystick. The base of the device houses the joystick, and its color is selectable from a variety of cover options to match your décor.

The efficient design of the instrument incorporates an integrated C-mount where a camera can be attached to capture observed anomalies and facilitate data recording.
