Ezer Applanation Tonometer ESL-Emerald-TN

The Japanese tonometer ESL-Emerald-TN is a precision applanation tonometer designed to be mounted on slit-lamp stereoscopic microscopes, used to measure intraocular pressure (IOP).

The ESL-Emerald-TN operates by bringing the applanation measuring cone into contact with the eye and gradually applying pressure to the corneal surface until it is temporarily flattened. The measuring cone determines the force required to achieve this, providing IOP measurements that are fundamental for diagnosing or assessing a patient’s risk of glaucoma.

Thanks to its precision machining, accessibility, modular versatility, and patient comfort, the ESL-Emerald-TN is the perfect complement to slit-lamp microscopes in any clinical setting, facilitating the acquisition of IOP measurements.

Modular versatility with multiple microscopes

Compatible with various slit lamp manufacturers, not exclusively with the ESL-Emerald system. Provides unprecedented adaptability for different clinical settings.

Maximum patient comfort

Applanation surface of only 3.06 mm in diameter minimizes corneal contact and ocular deformation. Enables rapid measurements without compromising the quality of care.

Simplified operation without complex calibration

Direct reading of results without standardization difficulties. Includes a quick reference table for converting pressure to IOP without additional software.

Precision optics manufactured in Japan

High-quality optical components with integrated cobalt filter. Ensures glare-free split-image observation for accurate intraocular pressure measurements.

The ESL-Emerald-TN tonometer combines high-quality construction and adaptability in a compact modular device that can be mounted on a slit-lamp stereoscopic microscope used in ocular imaging.

Although this accessory was designed with the ESL-Emerald microscope system in mind, the ESL-Emerald-TN can be added to many different microscopes from various manufacturers. This allows for unprecedented versatility and its application across a wide range of clinical settings.

With a small applanation surface of only 3.06 mm in diameter and an area of 7.35 mm², the ESL-Emerald-TN tonometer minimizes the amount of corneal contact and ocular globe deformation required to obtain a high-precision reading.

This ensures patient comfort and can help reduce time per measurement, allowing operators to maintain an efficient workflow without compromising the quality of patient care.

The ESL-Emerald-TN tonometer is designed with user experience as the top priority. There are no calibration or standardization difficulties to worry about; simply apply pressure until applanation is achieved and read the results directly from the device. An included quick-reference table simplifies the conversion of the measuring drum pressure to IOP, with no additional software or calculations required.

High-precision, high-quality optical components are key to the performance of the ESL-Emerald-TN tonometer. The selected slit lamp illumination passes through the integrated cobalt filter before traversing the plastic measuring prism, providing split-image observation free of reflections.
