Revolutionary Japanese high-precision design

Manufactured in Japan with superior quality optics and exceptional efficiency. Compatible with digital imaging systems for high-resolution photo and video capture.

The revolutionary Japanese design and new features of the ESL-EMERALD-26 LED/Halogen provide top-tier optical efficiency, enabling eye care professionals to perform a thorough and comprehensive slit lamp examination.

With an optional compatible digital video camera beam splitter (sold separately), both halogen and LED illumination are optimal options for capturing sharp still digital images and videos, facilitating the documentation of each observation. This digital imaging modality incorporates user-friendly software that allows users to add edits and comments to a captured image, and to archive documents effortlessly.

An easy-to-use application for taking photographs, capturing videos, and organizing files, included in the Emerald-VD-3.2 package (sold separately). Image categories can be freely edited, and a comment can be added to a captured image. 6 camera property settings can be stored for different observation types. For a quick start, 6 preset camera property settings are available as soon as the system is installed.

The ESL-Emerald-VD-3.2 offers a wide range of imaging modalities to meet the needs of any application. The Sony progressive scan interlaced CCD transducer (ICX445 1/3″ EXview HAD CCD™) delivers a resolution of 1280 x 960 and can record video at a maximum frame rate of 18 FPS. The device can also capture partial images with pixel binning and region of interest modes via Format_7.

ESL-Emerald-VD-3.2 features high-speed data transfer (5Gbps) from the latest serial bus, ensuring a stable connection between the camera and your PC.

The higher the magnification power of the slit lamp, the better!
5 Magnification Steps

The magnification power of the ESL-Emerald-26 is comparable only to that of the ESL-Emerald-12 “5 Steps”, which supports 5 objectives (6x, 10x, 16x, 25x, 40x), ensuring a thorough patient examination and easier detection of anomalies. The drum rotation allows the clinician to move effortlessly between objectives.

The ESL-Emerald-26 provides a unique convergent binocular microscope with high-quality optics and excellent image quality for all ophthalmological demands. Convergent optics for comfortable user operation while images and videos can be properly captured on site. The ESL-Emerald-26 captures sharp and precise images with a high-quality sensor and a simple connection system.

The Japanese tonometer ESL-Emerald-TN (sold separately) is a precision applanation tonometer designed to be mounted on stereoscopic microscopes equipped with a slit lamp, used to measure intraocular pressure (IOP). The ESL-Emerald-TN operates by bringing the applanation measurement cone into contact with the eye, slowly applying pressure to the corneal surface during measurement until it is temporarily flattened.

The instrument can accommodate either a halogen or LED lamp for slit lamp tower illumination. It incorporates the latest LED technology to ensure the best light spectrum for slit lamp observation and early-stage ocular disease detection.

The high-illumination LED is designed for greater durability and reduces the instrument’s energy consumption, making it the most reliable option for daily use over many years. Even if the LED lamp head needs to be replaced for any reason, users do not need to replace the entire column, as the lamp head assembly is field-replaceable. This energy-saving light source generates no UV rays and produces less heat, reducing stress on the patient’s eye. The illumination LED delivers the same color output as halogen illumination.

Contact lens fitting is optimized in the ESL-Emerald-26 like no other instrument. In addition to a cobalt blue filter, the instrument facilitates contact lens fitting with a unique “S.I. GRANDE” function that provides a 14 mm illumination field adjustable with a single click. Position 1 offers a range of 0 – 14 mm, while Position 2 offers a range of 0 – 8 mm.

The ESL-Emerald 26 LED and Halogen feature a LED background illumination system that allows you to capture clear and bright slit-lamp images. The LED light intensity is set within a range that does not cause excessive damage to the human eye. The light diffuser is useful when observing a full view of the eye. The ergonomic design of the instrument was developed for the comfort of both the patient and the operator. In addition to the comfortable chin rest, a long focal distance of 106 mm and a light diffuser, which can be used by the clinician when a full view of the eye is desired, further enhance patient comfort.

The proximity of all controls allows for easily accessible operation by the professional. Within reach at the base of the instrument, the operator can manage all camera functions, such as video recording, still image capture, light intensity control (light volume controller), and background illumination.

The revolutionary Japanese design and new features of the ESL-EMERALD-26 LED/Halogen provide top-tier optical efficiency, enabling eye care professionals to perform a thorough and comprehensive slit lamp examination.

With early detection in mind, the ESL-Emeral-26 is equipped with an integrated yellow filter to enhance visualization of the RGP fluorescein pattern and micropunctate corneal fluorescein staining, making any lesion resulting from interactions between contact lenses and solutions easy to detect. The instrument is also equipped with standard cobalt blue and red-free filters for improved visualization of nerve fibers, blood vessels and hemorrhages, and corneal damage.
